CHYC Raises a Wall with Habitat for Humanity

 August 16 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM

CHYC will be working on raising a wall to begin a new home on Fitzhugh Street in Punta Gorda.  We need as many people as we can to be at this event, as we will be having a great media blitz.  We’d like at least 20-30 workers that day, but if you feel you can’t work, please come out to show your support of the project. 

If you are planning on working that day, you will need to complete release forms, which is a requirement by Habitat.  You don’t have to work the whole day, and you don’t have to do the strenuous work.  We can use workers to do non-strenuous work also. 

Please bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and wear closed-toe shoes.  We will get work aprons to wear that day from Habitat, plus all other necessary tools.   

If you plan on working the whole day, bring lunch with you and plenty of water.

We will have a wonderful day working to help a family in need of a home.

Golf Tournament to Benefit Habitat for Humanity.

 You’ve been hearing about it and now here are more details.  The Tournament will be held Friday Oct. 24^th at Kingsway Country Club.  The cost is $100 per person and what a deal that is:  you get 18 holes of golf, a cart, a buffet lunch, prizes, and a dinner at Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club that evening.  There will be an auction in the evening and many more exciting activities during the golfing part of the event.
A separate fee structure is being developed for those who don’t wish to play golf.

 THE TOURNAMENT NEEDS YOU!!!!!  Committees are being formed and we need volunteers to make this happen.  Here is a list of areas that need volunteers—find a spot and join the opportunity to do something great for a wonderful charity, make new friends, and help CHYC.  What a combination!
